The Holiday | Part I

Let’s face it, with the Holidays coming up; you and I are spending money left and right! I don’t know about you but I have a couple of different Christmas parties and events that will take place this month, however I’m working with a budget that doesn’t allow for a new “get up” for each one. So, instead of taking money from what I would spend on my family’s Christmas, I will gladly sacrifice, and use what I already have from my very own wardrobe!

Let’s start with stripes. Stripes were a huge trend this Spring and Summer season. Hello- pull that top out and add a busy statement necklace. Throw on a leather jacket or some leather bottoms and you are ready – for FREE! I added a red lip for a more festive feel! I will go with this look for one of my parties for sure!

These leather shorts are one of my favorite 2015 purchases. If you follow me, then you understand how many uses I get out of them, and I am not one to wear shorts! I added tights and a dressy top. I kept the look all black but you do not have to. Add emerald or red or a black and white patterned top. If you have a colored pair of shorts such as a metallic or gingham patterned, totally dress those babies up!!

We all have a maxi skirt or a maxi dress, of some sort. I added a really dressy top and some big earrings. If you have a full maxi dress, add jewelry and a blazer. Throw your hair up and do a defined smokey eye – gorgeous!

For my last look, I’m bringing out the “little black dress.” I had purchased it for my rehearsal dinner 5 years ago. It’s such a classic that I can transition it from dates, to weddings, and now to the holidays!

Get creative and mix all the looks I have listed. Add stripes to shorts, or a dressy top to a skirt. DO IT and tag me in your Holiday photos! I would love to see what you come up with!

Stay tuned for the Holiday Part Two!
