How to Coordinate Picture Perfectly!
Every family has their own style on how to coordinate! Don’t loose your style trying to do someone else’s. Yes, dress to impress but people are so shut off to counterfeit and counterfeit can be noticed quickly.
In this post I’m showing you a few examples of how to coordinate without being too matchy, but still looking like you are all part of the same family! I like to pick one color or one item and build around that. So pick a color as your base. I usually do somthing easy like Navy or Black seeing as that it is in all of the ”Moore’s” wardrobes!
Here you can see there is Navy, but we also added grey, cream\kahki and a pinch of burgundy. To me all of these colors compliment each other. G and I got carried away with our matching trench coats. If he was 6+ it would be weird to me, but he’s 3 and perfect and I need to take advantage of the cuteness NOW!
This next look was from a Sunday morning in Harrisville (Josh’s home town.) Josh and G had similar flannels. In my opinion if Pax had the same one on it would be overkill!
I used the flannels as our base. I love wearing all black everything so that fit! I put pax in all black everything and threw on his chunky cardigan to break up his outfit and to add another color to our pallet.
I believe the 2 boys in different color flannels could be really cute as well! Its when you add a third flannel where things get busy. If this was the outfit of the day for them I would put Josh in a solid shirt/sweater or a denim (chambray) shirt.
If you follow me on instagram you would have seen these photos! My cousin (Katie Martin KT-Martin.com) took these just on her iPhone. Paxton’s little camo joggers were the base! When pairing with camouflage you can go a million different ways- Olive, brown, cream, white, black, and denim are just some of the options that compliment camo!
I used Giacobi’s flannel as the base. Paxton’s outfit is a little springy but he’s so sweet I don’t even care. If you are wondering if his boots are too big, they are! I called all over New York State to find yellow rain boots for him and this was as close to his size as I could get! These cream pants are such great neutrals that compliment so many different outfits! They give a warm and cozy kid- like feel! I added Paxton’s Navy sweater to build off of the Navy inside of G’s flannel.
I wanted to show 2 different shoe options. I love the boys in the matching rain boots but the outfits look very cute with the mocs and Frye Boots. Both shoes are very different but they go with the fall and winter season, while keeping with the warm color scheme.
So remember start with a base. Start with a color or a pattern or one statement piece and build off of it. Use complimentary colors and stick to that color family. Stay away from buying the same shirt for every family member- only the military looks good like that! And lastly relax- if you love it then who cares if someone else doesn’t!
