The Silk Look

Silk was all over the AW16 runway and it is here to stay. I keep spotting different silk items. How about the silk bomber? Or the silk scarves creeping out for the fall weather ahead? Most items that are in local stores is actually satin or a polyester of some sort, giving “the silk look.” It is a great alternative, especially on a budget. The difference between the two is;  silk is naturally made from a silkworm and satin is synthetic from a combination of materials including silk. Have you seen the satin wide leg pants? Or the satin camisoles that will look amazing under a blazer for fall!?

Anyways, I had gotten this olive satin dress while we were on a family vacation just the three of us- A.k.a. I was pregnant for Pax. I couldn’t fit into it at the time, obviously, but new it would look great once it did fit! And for 10 bucks how could I pass it up! Olive is perfect for any season but it is my favorite for fall. This dress is so light and airy for this humid NY weather but pairs lovely with a leather jacket or a white blazer. These exact looks can be seen on my Facebook, as well as on my Instagram from last Easter! I love getting more than one look out of an item!
